Upper Yonge Village Daycare Centre

Dear UYVDC Community !

14 St. Clements Ave has been home to Upper Yonge Village Daycare Centre for the past 40 years, but the building has been a cornerstone in the North Toronto community for much longer. Due to the planned renovation of the building, after 40 years of carrying for the children in our community, UYVDC will close on August 31, 2024.
Thank you to all staff who worked at our Centre over the years . Thank you to all volunteering board of directors who endlessly supported me in my role of the Executive Director over the past 13 years and prior to me. Thank you to all our families to entrusting us in taking care of your children. We are proud to be part of creating forever memories of this special spot which UYVDC was .

Yours truly, Daniela Durisova- Young, RECE

We understand the importance of the decision you are making to entrust us with your child’s safety, well-being & early learning foundation for the future. Your children are the most important part of your life and you want to provide them with the absolute best start. At Upper Yonge Village Daycare Centre (UYVDC) we offer learning with experienced and committed Registered Early Childhood Educators, (RECEs) and Early Childhood Assistants, (ECAs) provided in a warm, nurturing and safe environment that gives you the comfort of knowing your child is a part of our family as well as yours.
All our RECEs are mandated to have membership in the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators, a regulatory body set up by the province of Ontario, to ensure the high quality of teachers in childcare and early learning programs across the province.

All staff are trained and re-certified in First Aid, CPR, how to respond to anaphylaxis, how to use epinephrine injectors and are also trained in the use of a defibrillator. UYVDC is committed to the continuing professional development of our staff. Staff members participate in workshops to enhance professional development in areas of need and interest.

Centrally located in the Yonge and Eglinton area of Toronto, we provide a safe and secure facility of four classrooms and two playgrounds.

Upper Yonge Village Daycare Centre is a not-for-profit childcare centre dedicated to serving the North Toronto community since 1984. We offer childcare for children from 0-4 years of age.

The Centre also serves as a field placement facility for Early Childhood Education and Assistant college students from Ryerson University, George Brown College, Seneca College and Anderson College. Students and volunteers may be involved in the programs.
